This year I produced a whopping 108 pieces of writing - 84 drabbles, 22 pieces that might be considered fics (although in many cases, "not intended to be a drabble" would be equally appropriate), and 2 chapters of the not-dead yet Ortolani/O'Reily saga "Great Risks".

A little breakdown of the year by fandom (I'm not going to list individual pieces, for the curious, they're listed by month under the list tag with all the pertinent details):
OZ - 50
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - 19
Firefly - 16
Angel, Justified, & Life - 3 each
Mad Men & Leverage - 2 each
Crossover fics - 5
Other - 5 (fandoms - The Godfather, Inception, Now Voyager, The Sopranos, Thelma & Louise)

That's a lot of fic. I have to credit [livejournal.com profile] ozsaur for quite a bit of production, first by inviting me to participate in the OZ Graffixation challenge this year and secondly, through the excellent prompts at [livejournal.com profile] hardtime100.

Here are a few fics of note - good, bad & otherwise (I tried to use some of the templates that have showed up on my friends' pages, but part of the problem with writing so much is having to go back and look through it in order to categorize things.)

Miami to Kentucky - At last year's end of year review, I wrote that I wanted to tackle some "Justified" fic in 2011. This was technically the second thing I wrote for this fandom - the first was a drabble involving Rachel Brooks, but this was where I actually got to so the world my affection for all things Art/Raylan.

What They Needed - When I got the invitation to participate in OZ Graffixation, it was specified that I could drabbles for any picture that appealed to me. Well, I couldn't see doing them just for one or two people and not for the rest, so I decided to do them all. Not having watched but 1 or 2 SVU episodes (go ahead, slap my wrist now), I had to ask who the woman in the picture was. So Kathy turned out to be the most MarySue character I've written just because I could give her my perceptions of both Stabler and Keller - thank goodness it was just 100 words!

The Case of the Pretty Blond Lawyer - OZ Graffixation again. This is probably the piece that I had the most fun writing. I loved exploring all of the cliches of those hardboiled detective books and movies and not have to actually go through figuring out actual details of a case.

Slayer on a Mission - I'm not sure I can single one fic out as the "best", but this was one of the few that I was most satisfied with. It's a Buffy the Vampire Slayer season seven AU involving slayer Kendra (hence the AU) going to retrieve potential slayer Faith from Boston.

Three Drabbles Featuring Daughters - I discovered the [livejournal.com profile] halfamoon community this year and wrote about several different women for it. This was the best of the group in my opinion and gave me the opportunity to explore fandoms and characters that I didn't spend a lot of time with. I really liked the way that the second drabble of the group - Meadow Soprano's discovery of her father's infidelities - played out.

History Repeating - This Angel AU I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] winter_of_faith was something that I had fairly high expectations for. And it's something that I very rarely write - PWP (of the non-slash/non-femslash variety). I'm not someone who lives & dies for comments, but I was completely surprised by the fact that only one person wrote anything on it (especially since it was my first entry for this particular fest)

How Ryan O'Reily Escaped from Oz is on the other end of the appreciation spectrum and it wins my vote hands-down for Rare Pairing of the Year. [livejournal.com profile] trillingstar had a meme which happened to pair up Malcolm Reynolds and Ryan O'Reily which intrigued me to the point of writing something for the two of them. It was a lot of fun.

Roleplay - The required McManus/Murphy fic for the year. It may not be crack, but it's close.

Resolutions for the Coming Year -
Revisit "The Departed" at some point.
Edit and add a few more chapters to "Great Risks" (the resolution that won't die for the fic that won't die)
Write something involving Dewey Crow from "Justified"
Relax, write only what I want to write and don't overextend myself.

That's an impressive list!
Needless to say I was happy to see more of Great Risks and I will remind you to continue, lol.

I loved the drabbles you wrote for Oz Graffixation-and it was amazing that you were able to do all of them. The Blonde Lawyer was one of my favorites with Holly! :)

It's always disappointing if you have a story you think people will appreciate and things don't turn out that way for one reason or another.

I missed the Malcolm Reyolds and Ryan story. I have to confess I didn't now who Malcolm was because though I did watch some episodes of Firefly I was just automatically assuming it was someone from Oz. I thought it was Ryan's mother's ex and I thought, "Eww-why would Ryan be with him?".lol.

Good luck with your writing this year!

LOL. I probably would have enjoyed Season Six more if Nathan Fillion was on it.

I had fun with Graffixation last year, but I'm not sure I'll be involved this year. It's so strange that after writing this recap, I just wanted to take a break from writing for a while. I have two stories that I'm commited to writing, but after that, I just don't know.

I say this now, but I fully expect it to be like Michael Corleone in "The Godfather, Part III" - just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in. So I'll probably dive back into it by the end of the month to save my sanity if nothing else.

I feel the same way about writing for Graffixation this year. I had fun but it was tough, and I'm sure that it was tougher for you having to do drabbles for all the artwork. Like you(and Michael Corleone)I think I'll be pulled back in too though, lol.

Not dead yet. Have no idea when I'm getting back to it though.
