So you all can learn from my experience
It may not be the best of things to "free up disk space" when one is without anything better to do with her time. It leads to random deleting and programs running amok.
Oh, and system restore only works when system restore points have been set.
So set one for yourself now.

(Things are okay - really. I appear to be without calculator and no longer have the ability to easily adjust the volume setting, but other than that, everything else is in shape.)
