This has nothing to do about aardvarks

So last night went fairly well. Minor moment of panic happened early on because someone had put all of the songs from the church power-point on there, which would have been very nice except that I was going a more traditional route and the words were not matching at all. But we had our very best performance of the special music, so I was quite pleased with that. It was a long night though - I didn't get home until 11:30.

I know I'd planned on getting out and seeing "The Good German" today, but that's going to have to wait until tomorrow. I did manage to get my hair cut though, so that's a minor accomplishment. I need to start getting ready for the concert tonight. It should be good. Although, I'm not so sure I'm going to get through "O Holy Night" with a straight face. (Thank you for that, colleendetroit)

And yes, there may be another fic posting coming up soon. Why, oh, why, do I sense something McManus-based?

And if anybody on my list is into "Firefly", there's a fantastic Simon/Mal fic called "Resistance" on fireflyslash. It is worth checking out.

Well the concert seemed to be well-received by all the attendees - I wasn't really into it. I think I was so relieved that the thing from last night was over, that this just felt "phoned in" for me tonight. My focus and my energy wasn't there. Everybody else did quite a nice job though.

I have got to work on Magi. I've been putting it off for too long. I have been writing it out longhand in my Ozfic notebook (I had to make one specifically for it) but I haven't transferred any of it into the computer yet. Part of it is that I'm not feeling the pressure of the deadline or the need to keep pace with anyone else, since none of the other stories have been posted yet. I think I just need something to inspire me to get the daggone thing finished. The weird thing is that it's only Magi where I'm blocked - I can do the 100+ word drabbles for hardtime100 just fine. Maybe it's the difference between pleasing myself and having to fulfill someone else's expectations.
