Holiday

It was nice to have a day off today, but it's a bit weird to have the state & county observe Veterans Day, but have the post offices & banks open. It doesn't seem quite fair, but I enjoyed my day at home. And I'll have an obligation-free day tomorrow as well (which means I'll be playing with O'Reily again).

My mom sent me a picture of my niece from Halloween. She's dressed as a cheerleader. I won't say I'm biased, but she is the most adorable child currently occupying the planet. I'm looking forward to seeing her & the rest of the family when I go home for Thanksgiving.

I had the strangest dream today. I was selected to be one of twelve people as a witness for the Presidential Inauguration. It was weird. I was the youngest person at the table (everyone else was in their 70s & 80s), but not the only lesbian (go figure). I have no idea where this came from, although I had the belated thought right as my alarm went off that I could refuse to sign the documents and somehow nullify everything. And then the former governor of Texas wouldn't have the position he has. It's not fair though - [livejournal.com profile] colleendetroit has dreams about Dean Winters & I get old people & W.

Oh, the Blackhawks actually won tonight. Apocalypse pending.
