Fandom Snowflake Challenge 4

Challenge #4

In your own space, make a list of things that you wish existed in fandom or elsewhere, and/or that you'd like someone to create or do for you.

1) Fanvids - I'd love to see more of them. I think it was something that was once bigger in the fandom than they currently are and I'd just like to see someone create something out of a series of clips that maybe has us look at canon differently.

2) More fic centered on female characters (and fic that passes the Bechdel test)- Granted, it's easier to do this on a show like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" or "Game of Thrones" than something like "OZ" or "Justified", but it's something I'd like to see.

3) OZ fic centered on minority characters- I'd read the hell out of Adebisi/Said fics. Tell me about Wangler learning to read or Poet & Pierce recovering in the hospital. Maybe something about Raoul Hernandez or Chico Guerra. These are minor characters who made the show richer for being there.

I feel like I had a lot more friends who made vids before. Now it's a handful, and then you see them at festivids and some other fests. I miss vids.

Re 2: I got a small femslash ship going in Band of Brothers fandom, so anything's possible :D

Re 2: Wow! That's impressive. I usually have a side challenge for femslash February in the OZ community that I moderate but it's rare to see anything hit the community outside of that.

Fanvidders are an impressive species! One Snowflake I rec'd vids in book fandoms because I was like, how did you not only manage to find the perfect song, but clips from other shows that fit the song beats, but also the book/characters so perfectly?!!

I never would have thought about vids for books. Which is weird because people actually turn books into movies all the time. But a fanvid for a book seems like it would be a true labor of love.

This made me curious to go back and look at that post, if you'd also like to see it. (I was forgetting that I included other artists who drew/graphic'd book fandoms as well.)

Oh, gosh... fan videos. I made a few way back- one for LOST and one for Fringe. I get extremely tweaky with video editing and they took forever- but I was happy with them in the end.

I can't imagine now how I found the time. I was working just as hard back then, but somehow I had more time in a day, lol.

That's cool. I've never attempted one myself (don't have the software for it) but I did enjoy editing a whole lot in my college days and I know that it is very time-consuming. Of course, when you have that moment that perfectly synchs to the music, it's so worth it.
