Well, hell
Lockout became official just a few minutes ago. It sucks. It really does. I had a few moments of hope but yeah, it's gone now. I'm in Chicago at the moment, sitting in a hotel room. I felt it necessary to get away because I had a feeling this weekend would be hard and I really didn't want to be around people or dealing with this crap at work. And I can sit here and drink many beers and look at pictures of nekkid men (the cure-all for everything) and try not to think about the weather getting cooler and October quickly approaching and everything that October usually means and...
damn
Gonna switch tactics-
Good things that may come out of this -
1) More time to devote to my NaNo project in November
2) More time for a social life (Considering my last relationship was during the 2004-05 lockout, the ladies might find me more willing to shift focus for a bit of time)
3) Travel - seeing exciting places like Peoria, IL or Evansville, IN to see a game
4) Lockout fic - this is pretty much a given, I've been working on it a bit but it wasn't going to be put into the computer until the thing was a reality.
And I can always look at this to feel somewhat better.
