Memo to HBO: Stop after 5
I watched the opening episode of Season Six of "The Sopranos" last night and was quite disappointed. I know it's a catch-up episode, but in past seasons, those have been done quite well. This just brought in a lot of stuff I didn't want to know about. An hour long physics lecture given by Omar White would have been more interesting (and more coherent). I'm giving it until episode four, if it doesn't pick up by then, it's hopeless.
Saw "Blades of Glory" today. It's cute. Hysterically funny at some points. I've developed a liking for Will Arnett, though I can't remember where I've seen him before. But if you're looking for light entertainment, it's a good choice. I managed to catch the trailer for "Ocean's Thirteen". I am really looking forward to it. Although, Matt Damon with the nose (you'd have to see it) reminded me of Soderbergh - do I sense a director's cameo? All the usual guys are back which is nice. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
I'm a little glad someone else post some slash in the "Departed" fandom. It gives me a little more breathing room to get my story in order. Although it's unnerving for me, in a way, because Dignam/Costigan seems to be the B/K of that comm and I'm actually falling in with the mainstream.
Oh and speaking of the non-mainstream "Oz" stuff, I found a new McManus story posted here. It's quite funny and really 10 seems like a stretch. Hmm, I wonder why O'Reilly didn't make the list.
Off to work on the Lyrical fic. (Which has very little, if anything, to do with Tim McManus, and that's all you're getting out of me right now.)
