Congratulations to Stevie Y for his induction into the NHL Hall of Fame. No matter how I feel about Detroit, Steve has been and always will be one of those players that I will remember fondly.
Not really, no. In high school, I was obsessed with him - started watching him as a rookie. And I based my whole aging thing on him, as in "when Steve Yzerman retires, then I'll feel old", so now he's in the hall and where did the time go? He's just a really great player and although he's always been in Detroit, I haven't assigned my perceptions of the team to him, unlike, say, a Darren McCarty (who really should have been made captain after Stevie Y left, IMO).
I probably got a little more verbose there than I should have, but I love talking hockey.
By the way, did you catch the Hawks win last night on Versus? I definitely had to watch since they were showing the Kings as well and that happens - well, close to never.
