Spent the last couple of days at home due to the nasty (ice, snow, cold) weather. Work was actually cancelled yesterday and since they were shortening the day today and presumably not sending anyone out, it seemed a little silly to have to be there.

Haven't written anything recently, but I'm thinking of doing a few drabbles for the halfamoon community. Things based on female characters, more in fitting with canon. Suggestions are welcome.

Thank you, michele659 for the very cute puppy, who will keep me thinking warm thoughts until spring training gets here!

Still making my way through the DVD of the first season of "Justified". Have to finish the last two episodes by next Wednesday's season 2 premiere. I'm looking forward to it.

Oh crap, is Justified starting next week? I just told my husband this morning that we need to watch season one. I thought we had a little more time.

I think you have enough time to do it. The show is so well-written and addictive that it's hard to watch just one episode in a sitting, so you probably could plow through it in the next few days (even allowing for Super Bowl time on Sunday). And if you need to pare it down, just watch every one where Walton Goggins is listed in the credits.

oh my gosh, I know! I was so excited when I heard he was in another series, I can't believe I didn't watch this when it first aired! Probably because it's on so late here and I'm so bad abour remembering to record anything - still only have a VCR for that purpose.

I had not thought of Sally - she'd be excellent to write for. I've already got a little something brewing for Parker.

I'm trying to do more writing so this seems like a good challenge for me.

I saw the first episode of Justified and liked it but then I didn't see any other episodes. I am going to watch it this season as an actor I really like(Billy Miller)is going to be on it.

The halfamoonfest sounds interesting. Are you thinking of writing pairings or individual characters? If you do pairings I'd suggest Parker/Sophie and Diane/Gloria. I know,big surprise,lol They're all interesting women,whether paired or individually. Also,did you like Xena? She's an amazing character,as is the(much)underappreciated Gabrielle.
Or maybe Zoe from Firefly?

I'm probably going to write individual characters for a while - I like the idea of Zoe from Firefly, although I think Saffron would work well with the group I've got now. Parker is definitely in that group - I did a little something on law enforcement women last night, so gals on the other side of the law will be featured fairly soon. I've seen Xena, but not enough to write her.

Justified is wonderful - they're doing a new arc this year, so it should be easy to jump in on.

Can't wait until spring training starts. I feel warm just thinking about it.

My fervor for spring training has dimmed somewhat with the news that Andy Pettitte is retiring. Damn, I'm gonna miss him. My Dad and I saw him the first year he pitched. It was the first game he pitched in where he really clicked. Before that he hadn't been that good(in fact,my Dad was looking at the scoreboard and when we saw Andy Pettitte as the pitcher he groaned)but after that he went on to have a good year.
Oh well,I'm sure I'll regain my anticipation by the time spring training starts.

Sorry to hear that Andy is retiring - you'll have to write a fic in honor of that, like with him home watching one of his ex-teammates on television and the feelings it stirs up. Or coming back for "Andy Petitte Day" at Yankee Stadium. It does suck when your favorites say goodbye (not to mention the fact that it can also make you feel old too! LOL)
