Re-setting the mood
Oct. 30th, 2008 07:49 pmIt's been a better couple of days. I took my typing test with the court yesterday - needed to type 30 wpm, I typed 58wpm, so now it's just waiting another week or two and see if anybody calls me in. I think they were testing about 100 people yesterday, so it's still a pretty big pool of people to compete with.
Then I got a letter today from the County to have me come in and take a test for them. It's scheduled for the Friday before Thanksgiving.
I wasn't particularly thrilled about the Phillies winning the World Series, but there's usually something about the celebrations afterwards that makes me smile. I liked the way that FOX showed it, focusing on each player's reaction as the final out was made. It was pretty cool. Unless you're a Rays fan, but really if you were a Rays fan sitting through that you had to be a masochist.
I didn't mention this but Monday's "My Own Worst Enemy" was awesome. They aren't showing it next week - I guess they might be running election specials or something - it's a shame too, because this was a week that I actually could have watched it. People, use the time to catch up. And have a look at "Life" too. It's moving back to Wednesday, which is nice.
Tomorrow, I'm getting called for a job and JT is going to get his first goal. It's going to happen.

Date: 2008-10-31 03:27 am (UTC)Nope, if I get it, I'll just be a fairly high level clerk (which means I'm the person who has to handle situations with diplomacy and tact while getting screamed at by some lawyer *g*). But it'd still be pretty awesome. I really want to handle defaults, which just means I get to be anal-retentive and reject things all day long (my power-mad side likes it a lot).

Date: 2008-10-31 04:06 am (UTC)I've already had quite a bit of experience with screaming lawyers (and there's only been one that I've hung up on - twice - but he deserved it both times). I could probably write one about working for the attorney service though, but I'm still too close to it. (I could continue the thinly veiled screenplay about the interpersonal nonsense that went on.)

Date: 2008-11-03 07:06 am (UTC)I hope you get whichever one would make you happier and give you the least stress for the most money :)
I was happy that the Phillies won. I wouldn't have really cared if Tampa Bay won,but I used to really like the Phillies and this team impressed me. Nobody really thought they would win.
You mentioned in a comment to me that at least the RedSucks-sorry,Sox-(that part was a slip of the tongue, really it was!)weren't in it. That actually was my biggest fear,so anything after their elimination was happiness to me.
I'm just a little bitter.

Date: 2008-11-03 04:13 pm (UTC)Well, it's just over 4 months until pitchers and catchers report, so this is the best time - when the hope for next year starts to set in again. Maybe you could write some A-Rod/Derek during the off-season *bats eyes prettily*
