Watching the clock reset
Aug. 5th, 2006 12:22 pmI like to watch the clock at the top of the page because it always starts off 7 hours ahead of where I am, maybe it's GMT or something, but then just flips right on back. So I'm sitting here, literally waiting for my hair to dry. I'm going to run across the street pretty soon and cut it. Or I should say, have someone cut it. One of these days I'm actually going to wait a week or two between the coloring and the cutting. I hope I did a good enough job on my hair. There always seem to be spots where the color doesn't quite make it. And I hate that. But for now it signifies an end to the gray. And that makes me happy. It doesn't look too bad. The light red/brown/blonde color is all gone too. Thank God.
So I thought I was out of the MCCLA teen ministry, but I've been convinced to help out a bit online and with the promotional stuff (editing, making suggestions, that sort of thing). I'm very lucky to have a couple of other people that are committed to seeing the ministry grow. It's a good thing.
Did my HT100 thing last night - all about Beecher. I'll probably sit out until the next challenge unless the Alvarez thing that's been kicking around my head for a few days decides to bear some fruit. As always, I'm a slave to the muse.

It's Saturday night. I got no mail today. None. No advertisements, no solicitations, no bills, no letters. My dad writes me letters from work at least 3 days a week. Just about ordinary things, the weather, sports, work. It's like his low-tech version of Live Journal. They are a lot of fun and I always think that my dad is awesome when I read them.
The Blackhawks did it again. I think my A-B-C line is now just A. They traded Kyle Calder for Michael Handzus. Got a guy with playoff experience, but they're trading away the future of the team. The Blues may be on the 5 year plan, but the Hawks are on the 90 year plan. Sick.
IMDB has completely cut their quote page for Oz by 75 percent. So I'm attempting to weed out the best of the rest, here's today's quotes (as usual, courtesy of Tom Fontana) -
From "Straight Life" -
Adebisi, ends in "I", sure you're not Italian? - Nino Schibetta
Believe me, doctor, I have no intention of dying - Kareem Said (channeling cmk's thoughts on death)
How d'ya keep that hat on your head? Velcro? - Schibetta again, to Adebisi, naturally
From "To Your Health"
I'll miss him - McManus re Governor Devlin, this is another one that's all in the delivery - Terry Kinney is wonderful at this.
This is my tooth. It was in my head. This tooth and I've been together since we were kids. - Groves
Growing up and going to Saint Pat's , I never had a nun like you. - Ryan O'Reily
God does not need you to defend him from a moron - Said
From "Plan B"
Salami I like 'em. - Groves, in what is a beautifully twisted version of the Muslim greeting and what is one of my all time favorite quotes of the series.
Reality's hard for you, isn't it, McManus. - Lennie Burano
The sky's a nice color of blue. - Donald Groves' final coherent line.
I have a weak heart and you have a bad heart. - Said to Adebisi
After a big bad event you only become more of the person you already were. - Hill (in monologue)
