I'm going to TRY to be a good little non-ego-driven girl right now, but it may be difficult.  Yesterday, or actually Friday as I was heading to my meeting, I was writing a little scene for my Keller story where Keller discusses how Toby feels about him at that point.  And I'm thinking, good, I hope I'm close.  Cut to today, sitting on the floor in front of the television watching the final B/K scene unfold for the first time and hearing virtually everything I've written about 24 hours before within the dialogue of that scene.  It was scary.  It was inspiring.  I finally feel like I've gotten my touch back.

BTW, Eamonn Walker in those original cast audition scenes - absolutely beautiful.

After watching it, and not really dwelling on it, I'm not sure why the majority of folks hate the season so much - it seemed to do what it had to do to wrap things up (sometimes steamrolling over characters - Schillinger, McManus to do so).  I'm a bit upset they didn't show the complete Omar death scene - that would have been worth seeing, and the very end ticked me off a bit - I know why it ended on Hill, but I don't know why it had to end with Hill.  I liked the overlapping voices bit.  And I hated that they had to leave, I knew why, it was sort of silly, but it served its purpose.  And Keller's death.  It couldn't have ended any other way - I did warn him though as he was approaching the railing (just like I do every year to Sonny in "The Godfather" not to answer Connie's phone call).  They never listen.  Really, folks, it's the romantic ending.  There's a saying that in sentimental movies, the boy gets the girl (or the boy) and in romantic movies, the boy has no chance.  That's the beauty of B/K.  They'll always have that perfect moment at New Year's.

Possibly in subsequent viewings, my opinions on this season will change but right now I'm just glad to have seen it - the good, the bad, and the Omar.

I'm still trying to figure out this system.  Is there a way to upload/attach documents from MSWord?  Or am I going to have to cut & paste & live with the consequences.

Had a very nice day today.  Attended a party for the new choir director.  It was a lot of fun, more fun than I thought I was going to have.  Lots of food, and then lots of singing - showtunes and standards and things like that.  It was nice.  I did break down and call the princess and told her machine that we were all having a good time, wished she was there, that sort of thing.  I'm sort of glad she wasn't home.  It would have been awkward talking to her.

I can't believe the Rams beat Denver.  That's awesome and sick all at the same time.  (I'm a Rams fan, but I picked Denver in my football pool).  I missed the game, of course because the boys I was with had no clue (or no respect) that it was opening weekend of football season.  I haven't checked yet to see what's happening.

I LOVE THE NEW HT100 CHALENJE!  And it will be challenging to write some crackfic.  But I have an idea - yes, along the usual self-imposed non-B/K parameters.  Here's a brief one that won't make the page.

5 words.

Narater Agustis Hill sez nothin.

Actually though there was a bit of that weirdness during S6 - I never got it.  There would just be this random clip of Hill not speaking, not reacting even, just there.  It was weird, or maybe it's one of those "Our Town" moments where the dead don't stay interested in the living very long.
