cmk418: (quintuple shit)
And I wish I was talking about an extended viewing of HBO's other show (you know, the one that's not "Oz"), but no. The absolutely horrible thing (if you're not a diva) about being a soprano in a queer church is that you will probably be carrying the part by yourself at some point. Yuck. Which means no breaks for me unless I go away (which I am in 2 weeks - yay! To Vegas!!!!) I'm getting fairly burned out, but the responsible pain-in-the-ass side of me keeps me showing up every week.

Yesterday it was ridiculous. I got home and went straight to sleep (this was before 8PM). Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. BTW, in the new Monopoly with the ATM cards are we going to make more than $200 for passing Go? They changed Life around to make it more realistic with the salaries and charges and things. Funny but I found it more charming when I only could make $20,000 as a doctor. Maybe they should go a step further and saddle people with student loans based on their educational choices or ridiculous credit card bills, high gas prices and ridiculous insurance premiums (that are optional, but one runs the risk of getting screwed later on if they are on the "God policy" as a friend of mine likes to call it - pray nothing bad happens). Oh, wait, some of us are already playing that game, and ironically enough, it's called life.

I've just been in kind of a funk lately. I know what needs to happen to get me out of it, I'm just time-crunched at the moment and by the time I get home, I just want to veg out for a few hours.

I wanted to mention that the Blackhawks won their first pre-season game against the Blues yesterday. I hope the season for both teams is better than last year. I can't really see how it could get much worse. I hope the game audiocasts are available on-line. The Hawks site is advertising XM Radio so that means it might be available on a pay basis like MLB and NFL radio, but I hope not. Otherwise it's just Kings games in the apartment. And I really don't want to become a Kings fan. I probably will try to get to more games during the regular season this year though. I don't think I went to any last year - I usually go when Chicago is in town, but last year they were so depressing that I decided against it (Hawks lost in OT that time, a good decision on my part to take a pass).

How'd this wind up being all about hockey? Weird. Saw the last half of "Justice" tonight. Eamonn looks good, but I really do wish he'd smile more. And that chick from "The L Word" (Erin Daniels) needs to get away from him. She reminds me more of the character she played on "Action" (that I hated) than poor dead Dana (one of the 2 characters I liked on that horrid show). Am I going to have to turn in my lavender card now because I hate that show so much? I liked the sex. There was no dialogue during the sex. Note to writers of "The L Word", make the next season (which I still won't be seeing) ALL ABOUT THE SEX. And no boys - seriously. Until they learn how to write male characters that aren't creeps or dim-witted saps or homophobes, keep them out. And learn how to write female characters too while you're at it. Until then, wall to wall sex - silent porn with either classical music, Indigo Girls, or Melissa Ethridge in the background (because your musical choices are pretty pitiful too). Did I mention that I loathe this show?

Ah, the yin and yang of moody bitch moments...
