Good things
Nov. 16th, 2006 10:01 pmOne more day left in the work week with my boss and the crazy woman. I can't wait until they're gone. Which is strange because I used to have such dread when they would take a vacation, but now I just think "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out."
So today was a typical office day, the boss & his wife going at it - yelling, throwing things, carrying on, etc. He leaves. She comes into my space & starts whining about how she should quit. Now, while folks may think that I would just tell her to "go for it", I'm already doing the job of at least two people, I do not want to add another (no matter how much I would kick ass at it). So I suggest that it might be better for her if she works from home for a while. She does the work, not in the office. Win-win. If it manifests itself by the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, that's another story.
My family, after nearly eighteen months, has finally caved in and decided to invite my brother's girlfriend to Thanksgiving dinner. My brother split from his wife last year (a move which I supported 100 percent, but no one else did). Most of my family (except for my brother & myself) are very Catholic so divorce is frowned upon. But it struck me funny because earlier that year, they welcomed the princess into the house with open arms, yet they wouldn't take in this very nice lady that my brother was seeing. And even with my parents being okay with it, it still had to be taken under consideration by my sister and her husband. Very strange.
I like the way this new section of the O'Reily story is shaping up. I'm having fun with it.
In one more week, I'll be on vacation and freezing my butt off in St. Louis. The downside is being away from the computer for that long. But I'll bring my Oz notebook with me and work on a few things while I'm gone - 7+ hours of plane travel have got to be good for something.
