Went to see Zodiac this morning. It's quite good, albeit incredibly intense. Definitely worth the wait though. The next thing I want to see is "The Lookout". I really hope to see one of those screenings with the director, because I have an extreme fascination with Scott Frank after barely missing him during his "Out of Sight" period (which sounds kinda funny put that way).

I've been working on my Oz Lyrical fic. It required me to watch bits and pieces of certain Season 2 episodes and well, one thing led to another and I had to watch Said deny clemency (and have that beautiful moment with McManus at the end), and then went to the very end for another part of the fic and then to do a "Last" drabble for HT100 (I wound up watching from Cyril in the gas chamber onward). I hate that scene at the end. Hate it, hate it, hate it. I get emotional watching it. And in order to cleanse the pain from my system, I've got "The Truth and Nothing But..." on in the background. BTW, Paul Schulze, who plays the SORT guy, Rick in OZ Season 2, is in "Zodiac". With some really bad hair - he's virtually unrecognizable. It's always fun to see Oz folks pop up in something else.

Well, I was all set to go to church this morning, even got 2/3 of the way there, but transportation was a little bit difficult today due to the L.A. Marathon. I really wish sometimes that this city would space its events out a bit - last week was the difficulties with the Oscars and this week was the Marathon. Guess I should be glad I don't live downtown.

Anyhoo, I didn't make it to church, instead I turned around and went to the Farmers Market. I was going to try to get out of there without having to make a trip to the ATM, but then I saw the heirloom tomatoes and all hope for that went out the window. Heirloom tomatoes are my downfall. I also got a pint of really nice strawberries and a bouquet of orange tulips. I haven't figured out what it is that makes me do this, but I gravitate toward orange flowers - tulips, daisies, birds of paradise. It's strange because I really don't like orange anywhere else - there are no splashes of orange in my apartment, anywhere and I like it like that. But flowers, always in orange.

Patience is a virtue, but I hate having to wait two weeks before I can see baseball on my TV again. I am really ready for the season to start. Also, I checked online and the L.A. Erotic Fair isn't until June. I thought it was a lot earlier last year, but I might be wrong. It felt earlier. I hate that the Erotic Museum closed. It was one of the most fun places in this town. At least for me.

There was a weird little sidebar that was in the paper the guy wrapped my tulips in. It said that billiards players were more prone to using illegal substances than players in any other sports. At first I was thrown by this, because of all the sports, billiards would seem to be the one where you wouldn't need to use steroids, but then I kept reading and found out that alcohol was on the list (it did get taken off). Then it all made sense. Sort of. I would think alcohol use would be more advantageous to anyone other than the player imbibing, but maybe that's just me... How can people play pool and not drink? That's like bowling without cigarettes. Or beer.
