Random observations
Jul. 9th, 2007 11:21 pmHockey season cannot come soon enough. The Hawks have a promising team, the Blues have a promising team, and the Kings have picked up quite a few guys that are having me seriously consider getting a 10 or 20 game plan this year. Of course, since the NHL hasn't even put out the schedule yet, I have to wait. I really hope the tradition of having Chicago in LA on Thanksgiving weekend does not continue because I really don't want to miss an opportunity to see my beloved Blackhawks.
I am starting to like Dino Ortolani way more than I should if I'm going to wind up going canon with the series. Of course part of it is the sheer joy of developing him based on the little bit that I know. I read the Television Without Pity recap of "The Routine" last night and it cracked me up. It also had an interesting little insight into the exchange between Dino & Said that I'd never thought of before.
The soundtrack to "Spring Awakening" has me seriously hooked and has become really, the soundtrack to the Ortolani fic - between "Touch Me", "Totally F****d", "The Bitch of Living" and "Left Behind", I can pretty well just turn the cd on and start writing.
Part of me wants to see "Ocean's Thirteen" again. I've been thinking about it lately. Maybe it's just because quite a few folks have been posting on
oceanfic and I happened to watch the opening to "Ocean's Eleven" last night.
Saw "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" for the first time yesterday. Louise Fletcher blew me away. Intense performance - made me think "Jack who?" every time she was on screen. The movie on the whole was a little disturbing for me, especially since what happened to Billy (the Brad Dourif character) hit a little close to home (I probably should have avoided watching films about people in the psych ward in the first place).
I broke up with AT&T recently and today I got two things in the mail from them - a statement saying that I had a credit of 1 cent. And a check in the amount of $0.01. Someone spent at least 31 cents in postage to give me back a penny. There's something very wrong about that.
