Oh, no - not another hockey post!

Yeah, well... 'tis the season. (Talk to me in July.)

I was listening to hockey from the moment I woke up this morning. (Part of me wishes a team would play night games in London every weekend just because it's wonderfully time-zone convenient). It was quite nice. And the Kings won. I'm very much in danger of becoming a Kings fan and the familiarity of actually getting to see some of the home games this year and listening to all the others on the radio (when it doesn't conflict with the Blackhawks, of course) isn't going to help much. There's a lot of guys on the Kings that I like (acquisitions from other teams and one or two of the young guys) so it's not too bad of a deal. I got a kick out of the Blackhawks game tonight. They were playing my other favorite team (the Blues - yes, I have three teams, same as baseball, don't judge) and were down 3-1 when I started listening. They came back and won 4-3. All of this with Lalime in goal. Thank God, they'll be putting Nik in once the season starts.

A brief aside, I know there's a community or thirty out there that caters to NHL slash, but I'm not one to write it. And if I did, it would probably be something odd like "Miracle" slash (McClanahan/O'Callahan would be the obvious choice), but there's plenty of fic for them on ff.net (and I have a sad feeling that the girls who write that have no idea that those players actually exist outside of film).

Okay, so maybe that wasn't as brief an aside as I thought.

I wrote a bit today, got two fics accomplished, and have started on a third. There are still a couple hours left in the day so it's possible that I could finish that one and/or pick up another. We'll see.

I got my check for jury duty today. A whopping $40.88. Nice that I got the mileage bonus even though I took the train in both days (it basically covers the cost of a day pass though, so that works). I promptly spent it over at Amazon on a birthday present for my brother and a couple of cds for me.
