Planning

I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my day. It's nice having no plans. I should spend a little time on-line looking for a hotel for my Vegas weekend (I have a feeling I'm going to spend it in Excalibur again, which is fine). I decided I needed some time away with no obligations or whatnot, so I am vacationing from November 10-12. It'll be nice to get away, even if I do nothing but lay on the bed in the hotel room and order room service and watch pay-per-view all weekend (Yes, I will get out, don't worry)

Part of me wants to see a movie - either "Michael Clayton" or "We Own the Night" or "Gone, Baby, Gone" or "Lars and the Real Girl" - I can't decide just yet, and that may mean I'll be staying in my apartment watching videos from Netflix.

The Hawks are playing well and Havlat is not going to need surgery, which means he should be back in about four-to-six weeks. And the Kings have started to win, so that makes me happy.

I've committed to [livejournal.com profile] oz_magi for another year and hope that my fellow Ozzites will at least make requests (because I know some of you will put up some fun secondary pairings that will be fun and challenging to write). Check out the site for more info.

The work situation has gotten sillier. Clients want us to have better control of what we have no control of - the time and pace of the California legal system. What I would like to tell my boss is that it's time to cut ties with this particular client - who happens to be our biggest client (but also the client responsible for some big expenses - postage, outside contractors, labor) - because if we're not going to hire another person just to deal with their silliness, we're not going to be able to meet their needs. But my boss is going to go into the meeting with them next week and nod his head and promise them all but the moon. It's insane.

Well, after the initial post, I spent three (3!) hours trying to figure out where I'm going to be staying in Vegas. I decided for economy's sake to split up the nights, so I'm staying Saturday at the Stratosphere (which supposedly has a nice dance club where they play 70s and 80s music) and Sunday at the Luxor (which is someplace I've wanted to stay). The Bellagio wasn't available for either day or else I would have changed my options again.

I also put in my wish for [livejournal.com profile] oz_magi. I stayed away from O'Reily/Jia Kenmin this year, but it should be fairly obvious to anyone going through the list which ones are mine. I hope there will be enough variety again this year - last's years was pretty nice in that aspect.

Finished listening to the Hawks game. They managed to pull it out again, scored 5 goals in the third in order to win (and had quite a few power-play goals and 38 shots!) So I be a happy bunny.

Off to pick up a few things at the store, then it's back here to either finish up my Mal/River Firefly AU or to relax away from the computer for the rest of the night.

I feel like I need to do a bit of writing. So I'm opening myself up to a challenge. For the first five people that respond, I will write a drabble for any character/pairing in any of the following fandoms:

Oz
Firefly
Bionic Woman (2007)
Life (the NBC series, not the Martin Lawrence film)
The Departed
Ocean's Eleven/Twelve/Thirteen
L.A. Confidential

Also include a one or two word prompt to start me off.

Structure your reply as follows:
Fandom:
Character/Pairing:
Prompt:

I will make every effort to post the responses within the next week.
