Had a very nice visit with the fam over the holiday. Everyone seems to be doing well. We chipped in to get my dad a brick that'll be placed by the Stan Musial statue at (the new) Busch Stadium. He was very happy with it. Went to Midnight Mass at my sister's parish. The service was okay, the music was pretty good (she and her husband were in the choir) and it was nice to be able to sing in a big congregation again (my church that I now go to here has 12 people on a good night). Went with the sister and brother-in-law to see "Sweeney Todd". I liked it. It was quite bloody, so if you're not into that sort of thing, I'll warn you off, but on the whole it was very well done. (I love Johnny Depp - if they ever make a film of him and Matt Dillon painting a wall for 2 hours, I'd probably be compelled to see it).

I received a couple of gift cards for the movie theaters, so I'm going to decide what's available this weekend. "No Country for Old Men", "The Savages", and "There Will Be Blood" are on the list and there's probably a couple more worth seeing (oh yeah, "Atonement" - I'm hesitant on that one though)

My beloved Blackhawks are back in second place. The Kings are in Chicago on Sunday and then both teams are back here for the New Year's Game on Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it.

Don't think there's much else to say. I think I'm coming down with something - I've been drinking peppermint tea to try and combat it, but sleep is definitely one of the things that's needed.
