Two posts in one day - how unusual.

Are they really going to tell me every time Daniel Sedin steps on the ice? I'm sort of glad to see him back, but really, enough is enough.

The Torres hit really ticked me off last night. I really couldn't watch the game after that - I watched baseball and the Nashville-Detroit game and finally came back to it for lack of other options. I'm all for hard hitting and ramping up the intensity in the various series because that's what playoff hockey is all about, but I really don't want the guy coming back this year. Easiest solution would be for the Hawks to eliminate Phoenix, but I have my doubts there and have since the matchups were set. I really don't want to see him here against the Blues (if either team gets that far) because that shit can happen again (see 2011 playoffs, Brent Seabrook). So that's been on my mind, not to mention just the garden variety worry about one of my boys getting wheeled off the ice on a stretcher. We'll see what Shanny decides on Friday.

And who would have thunk that Pittsburgh, Vancouver, & Detroit (sorry [livejournal.com profile] suespur) would be on the brink of elimination at this point? Fascinating playoffs.

As a somewhat tangental aside, [livejournal.com profile] marythefan, I'm blaming you for getting me to look at hockey RPS. It's really very silly and far too fluffy to be believed.

This past week, I went with my parents to the furniture store. Mom was looking for a little sofabed type thing for my brother and also a chair. We settled on the sofabed first - a little blue chair-and-a-half that pulls out to a twin bed. Then, she goes to pick a chair and she gets a plush red rocker/swivel chair. Now, the thing you need to know is that my mom is more the muted pastel type, the established recliner is a dark rose color and the loveseat (that she's getting a cover floor is beige-y with a floral pattern). The carpet is beige and the walls are cantaloupe. I informed her that the chair would not "go" with the rest of the room, but she went and got it anyway. So now it's in the house, and she realizes that it doesn't go. She's going to try to get the place to take it back and reupholster it, but it's a little ridiculous that she didn't realize that this cherry tomato red chair wasn't going to mix well with the rest of the color scheme. *shakes head*

Oh, in happiest news, I finally paid off my student loans. The car will be the next acquisition and maybe someday in the next year or so, an apartment - I know a chair that will go perfectly in it *g*
