cmk418For me, the year in writing was a bit like what they say about the month of March "in like a lion, out like a lamb". I seemed to hit the ground running but as soon as the calendar passed April, the writing slowed to a crawl.
Here's what it shook out as:
20 pieces - 9 fic/ficlet length, 11 drabbles
4 fandoms represented - OZ still at the top of the heap with 11, Hockey RPF had 6, Desert Hearts had 2, and Firefly had 1.
Here's the list
My favorite fic was officially the first one I wrote during the year: A Pretty Nice Christmas After All. It is entirely crack and was just a joy to write. As a fan of rarepairs anyway, I got a kick out of setting up some previously unthinkable couples just because the prompt called for it. The most challenging things to write this year were some of the challenges for trope_bingo. I was able to write one for "mistletoe kiss" and "truth or dare" but follow that up with "circus AU" - how many of them are out there that this is a thing? and "sex pollen" and it was a bit of a struggle to figure out how to make that work. I did enjoy it quite a bit though.
In 2014, I'm not sure if I'll be pushing myself to write more, but I will try to get a few fics out there throughout the year. Last year everything I posted was a response to a challenge of some kind, so this year I think I'll try to come up with a few of my own ideas and play around with fandoms old and new.
