1_million_words community's Rare Pair Challenge prompt of "One of your characters is a superhero and one is a supervillain". I tweaked it a bit.
HEROES AND VILLAINS
Ygritte had been waiting months for this evening, the night of Sansa Stark’s costume party. The theme this year was “Heroes and Villains”. Ygritte had chosen to don a costume of her favorite character from the X-Men comics, Mystique. She had hoped that Jon would choose Magneto, which would make it obvious to all in attendance that they were together.
When Jon came to the door, she nearly slammed it in his face.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Your costume,” Ygritte declared. “We were supposed to match.”
“We do match. You’re someone from a comic book. I’m someone from a comic book.”
“You’re DC and I’m Marvel. How is that matching?”
“Well, the blue of my suit matches the blue of your… everything else. So, who are you supposed to be? That Doctor Manhattan character?” Jon asked.
Ygritte let out a sound that was a cross between a sigh and a scream. “You know nothing, Jon Snow!”
“Does this mean we’re not going?” Jon seemed almost too hopeful at the possibility and Ygritte’s eyes narrowed.
“Oh, we’re going, Superman. And if I catch you making eyes at Wonder Woman, Kryptonite will be the last thing that you’ll need to worry about.”
