That's a bummer that you haven't been able to see your family. I lived on my own for years without any family around even though I talked to my parents twice a week during that time, but the past decade of being back home, it's weird if I go too long without seeing them. (Except for one nephew who lives out of state for most of the year, but he's back for the time being, and it's great).
I'm so excited for you that the Silver Knights are so close. Minor league hockey is great and more affordable than the NHL (plus you'll get to see the baby Knights as they develop which is fun). I'm still hoping to get out to Vegas as soon as this crud is over and Knights game is definitely on the agenda. Side note: it seems like we'll be getting over 12 hours of hockey once the playoffs get rolling- not sure I'm ready for that. I may have to declare a writing hiatus in August.
It took two days of near silence, but our manager finally figured out the phone issue that had been plaguing us, so today I was fielding calls like crazy. It was pretty nice. (Not sure I'll be feeling like that in another week or two, but it's better than twiddling my thumbs for the better part of 8 hours.)
