Ocean's eleven was on tonight,and I can definitely see what you were talking about! The looks,and the interaction between the two were definitely a "slashy subtext" kind of thing.And you captured that really well in this story. I especially liked the line where Rusty says he forgets how to breathe."Leave emotion at the door"-that was exactly the tone of the scene(although the audience knows of the emotion underneath)and your story. I saw L.A. Confidential when it first came out,so I don't really remember the whole story.I do remember the relationship between the two characters,somewhat. I always like scenes where people are struggling with expressing their feelings, or they are struggling to understand their feelings. That came across really well in your alternating POV's between the two men. That whole paragraph when they make contact that they both have been waiting for,and neither wants to let go,and they seem to know each other's thoughts-"another life,another time"-that was beautiful.I got tears in my eyes(seriously);it was really moving. I also was glad that they felt that things were not finished between them. So, is there another story coming about either of these movies? :)
