So I went questing today for the aforementioned poppyseed dressing and I wound up finding a bottle at Whole Foods. I'm very happy. Life is good. I don't have to make another trip to the supermarket. Great. Cut to approximately 20 minutes ago with me pulling the bottle of dressing out of the fridge and looking at the ingredient list - ranking 3rd or 4th on the list - too high for my comfort are two little words "white onions". Excuse me? So I give it a taste. The bottle is laced with onion flavor. It is vile. Seriously. That bottle was in the trash and out of my house as quickly as if it was an unattended bag at the airport (actually and sadly, probably quicker). So now I've got to throw some shoes on and go to the grocery store. Possibly. Or I may just wait until Tuesday and go then. I hadn't realized how late it was.
So I got the news on the new HT100 Challenge and I have to say - this is going to be tough to keep the focus off B/K. There are a couple of easy dialgoue driven cliches that I could use for other people. But I might wait 10-11 days and see how I feel about the whole end of the series and if it needs a rewrite then maybe I could do something like that. Many many things about people falling, and true love's kiss and that whole thing (yes, you can steal it and run with it if you want). I've also got to finish "the novella", my response to the flash fiction challenge that keeps going on and on and won't get submitted until I see Season 6, at least halfway through and that should be a BIG clue as to who the other participant is. I was going to do a prequel right here at this moment, but I think it's still a bit rough around the edges so I'll wait a little bit. Also, it's a slashy thing, but I think it's going to be more sweetly romantic than hc. I like hc, a lot. I'm just not sure that I could convincingly write it - too many years of screenwriting for non-NC-17 stuff.
Oh, good grief, somebody is making a declaration of love outside my window. Not to me, of course. It seems to have stopped. Another second I would have thrown a shoe at them. Who does that? Declares love in public courtyards of apartment buildings? Someone needs attention.
My parents have gotten me to start watching "Boston Legal" on DVD. I like legal programs, I used to be an "L.A. Law" junkie and even got into a paralegal program on account of it (the research was boring and I decided to change my major so I would write for L.A. Law instead). Anyhoo, the character of Alan Shore has replace Stuart Allen Jones/Brian Kinney as my fictitious relationship role model. And for those of you going "Stuart Allen Who?" especially you Ozzites who watch the show for the man on man action, get thee to a very independent video store and pick up a copy of the UK version of "Queer as Folk", you won't be disappointed. It came before Showtime took over the series and went entirely too crazy with it. At least that was a decent show though, not like their horrid lesbian soap opera. I could tell you how I felt about the show, but that may be redundant with my feelings for Whole Foods' poppyseed dressing.
Now I have to check eonline to see where they are with the show.
