ozsaur who is celebrating a birthday today.
She’d walked in that first night as if she’d belonged there. “He’s right, you know.”
There was a woman in his cell. Or more appropriately, the ghost of a dead woman in his cell. As in all things, Chris played it cool. “Who’s right?”
“Officer Lopresti.” She sat down beside him on the cot. “I only wish he wouldn’t have been so crude. You men.” She said it like an accusation but a moment later, there was a hint of a smile on her lips. “I will say that I did appreciate the show.”
Chris grinned back at her, the memory of kissing Toby again filling his mind. “You’re probably the only one.”
“Just the only one who’ll say it. You always been into boys, or is it just because you can’t have girls anymore?”
“You’re pretty curious for a ghost. Aren’t you supposed to try and scare me instead?”
“I could tell you many a thing that’d put a chill up a grown man’s spine, but I don’t think I could ever scare you. Besides, they finally gave me a bit of fine-looking company in here, and I am not about to squander my good fortune.”
Chris let out a bark of laughter. “I like you, Shirley.”
“Well, that’s good, sugar. I like you too. Now are you going to answer my question or not?”
“What was it again?”
“Boys or girls?”
“Yes.”
“You got a bit of the devil in you.”
“Wouldn’t be here if I didn’t.”
Shirley stood up from the cot, walked toward the bars and stared out into the half-light of death row. “Why don’t you make yourself more comfortable, darlin’ and then tell me all about your man.”
“You first.”
“I’ll just listen, if you don’t mind. Being non-corporeal does have its disadvantages, but a girl can always get turned on by a good story.” Shirley unbuttoned her dress and let it fall to the floor.
As he tossed his shorts across the room, Chris said, “You’re a beautiful woman, Shirley.”
Shirley gave a little curtsey. “Thank you, kind sir. And let me just say that you are a sight for sore eyes.”
Chris rested his head back on his arm, staring up at her. “You should have seen Toby and me together. I mean, really together. That kiss today was nothing compared to the time when...”
As Chris talked, Shirley watched him with a smile on her face. She’d sensed in him a kindred spirit, one that knew that his time on this earth was drawing to a close.
And there was nothing else to do but spend it pleasurably.

It's Halloween, so it's easier for me to read Death Row
fics.

...because he's sly, coy & sexy all at once, and he knows Shirley will get it... Wonderful.
