I like how you combined the two prompts. I like how you highlighted Mal's 'attitude'. I don't think he's trying to be a snob, but ironically... Perhaps Mal protests too much... don't worry, Simon... *g* (Of course Simon is smart enough to know this about Mal.)
I like how you introduced River into this, and I thought her characterization was excellent, esp. for a short piece. Very Christmassy. Thank you for it. :)
PS - I haven't forgotten the Ryan/Mal prompt you gave me - it's fermenting. Heh.
