It seems like it's been so long since I've updated with anything. My temp assignment is still going strong. I've been reading a lot more lately - I'm trying to finish at least four books a month (which is a little more difficult since work has picked up a bit).

I haven't seen all the nominated films yet - and probably won't, but of the ones I've seen, I really like "The Hurt Locker". REALLY LIKE IT. The subject matter is a little difficult but it really is an incredible film. I also liked "District 9" and "Inglorious Basterds" - especially Christoph Walz' performance. I've seen parts of "Up" and it's okay - I think it'll get a well-deserved Best Animated Film, but other than the first four minutes, I'm not sure it's necessarily Best Picture material. And if "Up in the Air" doesn't win anything, my feelings won't be hurt at all.

I've been watching a bit of the Olympics - mostly hockey, of course. I'm pulling for the US, of course, but I'll offer this tiny piece of advice to Team Canada - put Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook on the ice at the same time. I've got a lotta love for Drew Doughty, but seriously, Dunc and Seabs are practically a married couple out there - why break that up?

I was listening to this queer radio station this morning and they were talking about the same-sex marriage debate going on now in Minnesota. One of the Catholic powers-that-be up there had the nerve to say something to the effect that gay marriage should not be allowed since it's not procreative (because we apparently needs more kids brought into this overcrowded world - by the way, that's an old argument, not very surprising) and also that based on the nature of the sexual act that it's merely one person using another for sexual pleasure (at which point my brain went WTF?!) and is therefore unhealthy. The sheer ignorance of some people is astounding.

Looks like the cute Canadian women are about to beat the cute American women for the gold in hockey. At least the US only held them to 2, which is better than anyone else has done. Pausing for girl-huggage. *sigh*

Better stop before I get hormonal and start talking about how I need to get a girlfriend or something crazy like that. So instead, if you've braved the cut and made it this far, I'm taking a call for prompts - won't promise more than a drabble, but any pairing from the usual fandoms (Oz, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Life, The Departed, and Leverage) is welcome. Femmeslash prompts would be especially appreciated.

I need a girlfriend, too. I almost joined plenty of fish, just because, then I was all like, well, that's going to be a lot of work and most likely end in a lot of drama. I may be the only person to die alone because of laziness.

Sorry. I was kind of saving that one up.

Oooh! I want a drabble(although I owe more drabbles than I should recieve) I wamt Charlie/Dignam. THE CRAZY. It would be awesome!

Faith/Cordelia, dangerous, royal, slick.

Kaylee/OFC, love that scene where she's at the ball and all the boys are fawning over her. Maybe there's a girl fawning, too? Ooh, or Kaylee/Inara, and Inara's teasingly jealous of the attention that Kaylee got at the ball.

Howell/Bellinger, rough. I loved your Magi story with these two. More? :)

It's good to hear from you-I was wondering how you were. I'm glad to hear the job is still going strong for you. Have you adjusted to the commute? I remember you saying it was a long trip for you.

I've been watching the Olympics, too.I like the speed skating and snowboarding, and the women's ice skating was exceptionally good this Olympics.

I wish all the people who have ignorant opinions would just shut up. I wonder if they ever have a clue that they're not making any sense? I've actually heard the "sex without the intention being to procreate is selfish and not what God intended" for heterosexual people who are married but don't want children.

Prompts for you:Diane/Gloria-chocolate fetish-Ryan/Miguel--some kind of angry sex in the gym? Maybe Ryan being jealous of Miguel or something like that.Parker/Sophie-"Being as flexible as Parker came in handy in many situations."
