Hmm... prompt - if I can be specific, then I'd like to see something of Pete's mental state after Don steps between him and Roger (something he wouldn't have done a year or two ago.)

Stages of Comparison

Quick question - Justified - Art/Raylan - I'm thinking UST - would it be believable or not? Or is it too squicky?

YES. THIS IS EVEN BETTER THAN PORN. Trudy giggling with her vapid friends whom Pete despises! Amorous Peggy sitting on Pete's feet! That gutcrush ending line! Thank you so, so much. In a minimum of space, you made me feel equally sad for Pete, Peggy, and Trudy.

As for Art/Raylan UST, I've never thought of that pairing but I think it could be a fascinating read. Raylan is so closed off (like Don!) that you might have to do a little/a lot of prodding (hah) to get him to even admit there's /that/ kind of tension, and Art is such a prickly bastard... Can't see those two tumbling into bed, but given their complicated, heated relationship, who knows what kind of fleeting thoughts they have about each other?

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed the fic. I think it's going to be hard for Pete because he's always going to have the idea of that other child being out there and never have a tangible experience of him.

Raylan/Boyd is the obvious pairing which is apparent from the first episode, but then there's Art who's always trying to talk Raylan out of making mistakes with the women in his life and maybe there's something going on beyond the usual looking-out-for-a-friend thing that they've got. But I'm going to have to rewatch the episodes and see what I can shake out of it.

Yeah, in retrospect "complicated, heated" is not the best descriptor for Art & Raylan's dynamic (hah the Raylan/Boyd probably got to my brain). There is not enough Justified slash out there.
