Happy New Year!

Good evening and Happy New Year! One of the things I want to do this year is post daily. Today, I'm in the midst of the annual deep clean and purge in the bedroom. I have not gotten very far, but I had done a significant amount earlier in the year, so it may just be that I've gotten some of it out of the way.

Anyway, this morning I got a Facebook video directed to me by kerk_hiraeth which was about "Heated Rivalry" and that some men thought it was a Sapphic romance and went into this whole thing about men being afraid to show emotion, so anything that did had to be feminine and that HR is definitely not a Sapphic romance. (Until I write the fanfic where Rose & Svetlana hook up but that's neither here nor there.) But during the video which is from NYE, the vidder said that they were in the midst of doing their New Year's cleaning.

So, question for all of you, do you immerse yourself in cleaning projects either on December 31 or January 1?

That must be fun. I live with my parents and somehow I managed to develop a need to keep things tidy in my space, but it's always a scramble with the rest of the house.

I do no, but I do try and keep up on things regularly. The reno we did a few years ago really helped with this, because we did a major declutter.

It's hilarious to me that despite how quickly HR blew up, so many people have no idea. A friend sent me a reaction video her niece made and asked me to explain. 😂 (Her niece is 22 or 23, I believe.)

I declutter every year- this year I don't seem to have as much to donate, but I haven't done the closet as yet, so there may be a host of things there to pack up and get out.

Oh boy, what was your friend's reaction to the reaction once you explained things?

It'll be coming after a couple of rewatches (and maybe a re-read of the last book in the series as well.)

She was very confused and said she needed to call her niece. 😂 Although, now she's sending me all kinds of hockey videos she finds on Instagram.

I did some organizing New Year's Day - mostly clearing my clothes closets and dresser drawers. I tossed out a couple of items that were worn. I have just one closet and three drawers of items, so I think compared to some people I have a fairly small wardrobe.

With that job done, I have much shaking down to do in the kitchen and my office. But I'll get to it a bit at a time!

PS I haven't watched HR yet, but I think...um...I need to. For research purposes.

The closet is all I have left to do right now and that'll be next week. I'm sure I can find a couple of things that I no longer wear. After that, it's the bathroom- it gets cleaned regularly, but it's been a while since I've organized in there. Good luck with the rest of yours.

Yes. Research is important. I will say that if you've read the first and second books in the series then you'll know everything. The television series is very faithful to the books.
