So it's Sunday night and I'm sitting here typing once again.  Obviously.  Apparently I'm underestimating the intelligence of my audience for not allowing them to figure that out on my own.  Wound up with Burr Redding today.  That Oz character generator is like my version of a horoscope, but since I feel old and cranky four out of seven days of the week, it's a wonder that I don't draw him more often.  I think I'd rather be Kenny Wangler anyway.  Of course ol' Kenny wound up being killed by a Frenchman.  I have a lot of thoughts on that, but let me say that Lothaire Bleuteau (and I'm probably butchering his last name) was wonderful in Jesus of Montreal.

The news today is that our new choir director (although his start date is the 1st) will not officially be with us until September 6.  That's so not right.  At first they told us that we would have somebody by June 1 - our old director left at the end of April.  We've been muddling through for an additional 3 months.  I'm not taking this well.  And I know the guys who are currently leading this aren't feeling much better.  So for those that are betting folks and took the Keller or princess challenge - looks like Keller will come in ahead.  I will let you know if anything different happens, of course.

Speaking of Keller, still no additional feedback on the non-B/K thing.  This is why I'm not a successful screenwriter.  I do not cater to what the public wants.  I love romantic films, just not those where the leads wind up together at the end - "Far from Heaven: is a better movie for me to watch then, say "When Harry Met Sally" - and not just because I adore Todd Haines.  "Broken Hearts Club" means more to me than "All Over the Guy".  I saw the director of that film at Outfest this year ("All Over the Guy") and I just wanted to shake him and tell him that he did a terrible disservice to the queer community and hell, even the world at large, by making this film.  I wanted to drink a fifth of scotch (and I don't drink anything other than beer) and shoot myself (possibly exaggerating a bit) after seeing this movie.  And people, please don't run out and get it because I just told you how horrible it was.  Back to topic, I write about gay men who don't wind up together, straight male transvestites who may or may not wind up romantically coupled (depending on the draft), lesbians who see Jesus and are martyrs for the cause, widows who encounter their dead husbands (not like Ghost) and wind up dying at the end.  The most conventional stories are two, my first script about an adulterous affair, and one that I stole from a "Dear Abby" column about good and evil identical twins who meet each other at a rest stop.  Most of these are not things that Harvey Weinstein is itching to get his hands on.  My latest is sort of a retelling of my relationship with my boss (platonic, people - really) with sort of a kinky (read S&M) twist.  I haven't figured out if I save him from his wife at the end or not.

By the way, there should be a book out there for dealing with the P.W.'d.

Feel free to steal this idea because there is a market - you already have one advance sale right here.
