It's Oz Release Day - the day I've looked forward to since I watched the deleted scenes on my Season 5 DVD (the first time). Why is it that Hill's death always makes me so sad? I was in tears again last night, and I had watched that scene within the past two months, so I really shouldn't have been that affected by it. Is it because it marks the end of Hill the prisoner, or because it's the end of the season? I will not let myself watch the final episode before Friday, lest I be all blotchy going into work the next day. But enough happens before that to help my emotions run the gamut. I can recall seeing parts of 4 episodes on cable (the end of episode 3.4 where Kenny sings, one in season 4 when they're talking about Gloria's rape, the beginning of Variety which I thought was weird at the time, and the end of the penultimate episode - I was in a hotel room somewhere - which shocked the hell out of me). I don't know why I bring this up now, but there you go. Don't have much time for anything else at the moment.

It's late and Fontana, that s.o.b. has done it again and is quietly calling me back to the DVD player. Part of it is the train wreck syndrome, seeing what they'll do to sustain the next episode without the presence of Said or major presence of Beecher. Please, don't give us more Omar White. I do like that Alvarez is getting more screen time. That makes me quite happy. And Guerra is shaping up - I can't remember if he gets shanked or not - he's always been fun to watch though. O'Reily is bugging me a little bit - I liked the manipulation factor with the Schibetta thing (not the outcome). Hoyt's gotten fun and Claire is actually developing a personality. Forgive me, ladies, but upping the Oz estrogen level was not a good move - the female CO's can stay, but Ellie, Ryan's mom, and Marian the Librarian have got to go.

And so do I.
