Doin' the happy dance
Nov. 9th, 2007 10:25 pmWhat a difference a day makes. Today was leaps and bounds above yesterday (I was two steps away from quitting my job if that gives an indication). But today I had fairly limited interference from the boss and the clients. I left a little bit before five and got home in time to hear the last period and change of Hawks-Blues hockey (Chicago won, by the way - they are in second).
Tomorrow I head out to Vegas. Hallelujah! I'm really psyched for this trip even though I feel like I don't have a thing to wear. I'm going to have fun regardless - just getting away is the main thing. But I am really excited about the trip - it's been over a year since I've been anywhere that wasn't LA or St. Louis (and yes, the last "real" trip I had was Vegas). I might do a little writing over the weekend but I'm not making any hard and firm plans other than a long hot bubble bath (or two!) and getting a little extravagant with the room service at the Luxor Sunday night.
Oh, and I bought makeup too. I don't think I've worn lipstick since my sister's wedding (five years ago). But there's that saying - "whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."
Which just brought a question to my mind - if gambling and prostitution are legal in Nevada, why aren't they bothering to legalize gay marriage? They'd make a fortune. (And the other two "legal activities" are more dangerous to marriage than any kind of queer commitment.) Just another bit of foolishness by our legislature that makes no sense.
