Oscar Predictions

Happy Academy Awards Weekend, everyone! Here are my choices for the major categories this year:

Best Picture-
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE - I've seen it and it seems to have all the things that Oscar likes. I will weep joyous tears though if "Milk" wins.

Best Actor-
SEAN PENN, Milk - An all-around excellent performance, and I think Hollywood may be over Mickey Rourke's comeback

Best Actress-
ANNE HATHAWAY - For some reason, the Academy won't vote for La Winslet. It may continue.

Best Supporting Actress -
PENELOPE CRUZ - I really don't care too much about this category, but I think Henson & Davis will split and Cruz will sneak in.

Best Supporting Actor-
HEATH LEDGER - The "duh" award. He was the best thing about the movie, but I hope they give it to Robert Downey Jr.

Best Director-
DANNY BOYLE - I hate to say it, but he does beat Gus Van Sant hands down.

Best Original Screenplay-
MILK - C'mon, did you expect me to say anything else?

Best Adapted Screenplay-
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE - It's that kind of year

Best Animated Feature
WALL-E - Really, the best film of the year.
