Went to see "Spring Awakening" on Saturday afternoon. I really enjoyed it. Usually when I see something after hearing the music for so long, I have a vision for it in my head. The staging, set design, and lighting far exceeded anything I had dreamed. I thought the pacing on the songs was a bit slower, but maybe they were just lower energy for the matinee crowd. All in all though, I'm glad I got to see it.

Had the Oscars yesterday. I was thrilled that both Dustin Lance Black and Sean Penn won for "Milk" and thought the speeches that both gave, especially Lance's, were very eloquent. I've seen "Slumdog Millionaire" and thought that it deserved to win Best Picture, so I'm not disappointed in how things turned out.

My favorite part of the show was the Seth Rogen/James Franco skit written by Judd Apatow. For those of you that missed it, here it is for your viewing pleasure (it helps a bit if you've seen "Pineapple Express", but it's not required).

Here if you want to check it out )

I'm willing to forgive Franco for "Tristan and Isolde" now.
