A post for the waning days of hockey
Jun. 14th, 2011 10:53 pmQ. What time is it in Boston?
A. Fifteen past Luongo
My brother texted me that joke this morning. I'm thrilled that Boston won - mainly because it means that my beloved Blackhawks remained the reigning Stanley Cup Champions for a couple more days.
I'm pulling for the Bruins, but I'd be happy for Lu if he won it (although the other 20-odd guys and their coach have done nothing to endear themselves to me.) I also find it funny that the Boston organist played "Chelsea Dagger" (Blackhawks goal song) last night at some point during the second period.
Hockey will be over tomorrow. I suppose I should be sadder than I am, but this post-season with the exceptions of Vancouver-Chicago & Nashville-Anaheim seems like just games that have less relevance for me than the pre-season.
But there's game seven and the draft and the free-agent acquisition period and the schedule release celebration day so there's lots to look forward to before September 15.
Three long months from now.
