This is 50

This past weekend was full of festivities - I had Friday away from work so I took a 2 hour drive with my parents to have breakfast in Hannibal, MO (home of Mark Twain). There's a place that makes cream-cheese filled crepes covered in strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce that Mom & I have been to a couple of times as we've headed out on vacation. I was having a bit of a craving and since it was the penultimate day of 49, I decided to indulge. We puttered around Hannibal for a bit (it was too hot to do much) and then headed back in for some mini-golf - one of the art galleries was having an exhibit called Golf the Gallery where various artist designed mini golf holes. It's a pretty cool experience, but they're artists, not golfers, so getting a decent score was difficult.
Saturday my sister picked me up and took me to this place that had excellent cheese boards. It was so good. After that she'd arranged for both of us to get pedicures (I haven't had one since she took me out for my 40th), so now I have very smooth feet and blue toenails. After a brief stopover at the local mall, she picked up my brother and we all went to watch the Cardinals play the Pirates. We figured out that it was the first time in our adult lives that we'd done something with just the 3 of us - no parents, spouses, or kids.
Sunday was my birthday and it was nice to celebrate with the family. I had Monday off as well and Dad and I took our annual trip over to Busch Stadium to walk through the Cardinals Hall of Fame & Museum. All in all it was a nice celebration weekend.
