Snowflake Challenge Day 1 - Intro Post
Jan. 1st, 2020 12:38 pmHi! I'm Cat. I'm working on the Snowflake Challenge again this year. Not much has changed fandom-wise since last year, although I have a replica Stanley Cup Champion banner hanging in my bedroom and I've picked up two new TV shows that I've been following- Prodigal Son, which I adore and inspires me, and Batwoman which I enjoy simply because the main character is a lesbian superhero (more or less- never sure about that with the Batfolk since they don't really have superpowers, so "heroic crimefighter in disguise" is a more apt description than superhero).
Things I am looking forward to this year- a new job- that's a big one. I'm starting it mid-January. It was a pretty out of the blue thing, but it's nice to leave the constant stress of my current job.
How I create- writing mostly, icons just a little- I'm getting better at them, I think, but I still have a tendency to shrink a photo down, add text and maybe a color effect and call it done. I write more hundred-word drabbles than anything else, but I participate in NaNoWriMo every year, so I'm not a stranger to long form (I'm just better at the other).
I glanced at some of my entries for last year's challenge and realized that I failed miserably at my create-your-own-challenge - editing one of my drawer novels (and now I've gained a new one- whee!) Not sure if this year will be a year for editing or not. I used to enjoy it, but given the option of something shiny and new or making an old retread better, I'll go with the shiny & new.
I still am posting predominately at LJ. Nothing against DW, I like it, but I came into fandom with LJ and it's going to take a lot for them to get rid of me. Here's where you can find my work.
Happy New Year!
