This is actually my first time blogging anywhere and I'm not really sure what the format is. Is it just aimless rambling on a particular topic or can it be something completely made up? I'm not the most poetic person in the world but I do enjoy writing. Right now I have this song going through my head that was completely blown during its performance last night. In my head, it's the way it was supposed to go. I listened to it for the better part of the week (all the time we had to rehearse it) and when it went into "go" mode - no one besides myself was ready to go. I don't think we'll be doing new music again any time soon. It's disappointing because it was a good song and would have worked if the person who was supposed to be leading it had actually led it.
What I really am dying to know is - why the heck is "aardvarks" such a common password? How many people sit down to their journal and type that in before getting onto the site? (Forgive me if I have just blown the password for one of you). Is there a community out there for aardvark aficionados? More likely than not (mind going in a place that would get me censored awfully quick - pull it back, cmk, pull it back). I like the word "aardvark" though. I always think of it as the title for one of my screenplays - Coming to a theater near you - AARDVARK - the touching tale of two gay men that find love amidst the constraints of Stalinist Russia - no actual aardvarks were harmed or indeed used during the course of this film (not really one of my ideas, but I have temporary trust issues). The reasoning behind that is that I have the feeling that some Academy voters just go checking off the more intriguing titles or the top 5 title on the list (and Aardvark would definitely get me a nomination based on the merit of the script, of course)
It says in my profile that I am addicted to Oz, the HBO show that has run on my television set since I got the courage to rent the first and second seasons on DVD. I am anxiously awaiting September 5 when I can FINALLY get my hands on the final season (I've read all the recaps on line, but nothing beats seeing it). Favorite characters - Ryan O'Reily, Beecher, Keller, Jia Kenmin (really, the only guy who could stand toe to toe with O'Reily), Morales (but the fully clothed Morales), from the first season Groves, Alvarez (except for the repeated blinding of Rivera sequence), and probably 20 or 30 odd other folks that I love and hated off and on during the course of the series - nearly forgot Dr. Faraj - he is hilarious.
So that's it. Endless rambling. It might not be the norm, but that's what you'll get if you come visit.
