First off, big thanks to
colleendetroit for the fantabulous Murphy icon.
Well this has been a fairly relaxing day. I've spent almost all of it (and since it's almost 9PM, not changing now) in my pajamas. I just went through about 5 different windows to hear the Mighty Schmucks score on my Blues (yeah, I know, they're just the Schmucks now). I could have gone the easy way and turned on the radio, but then I'd have to listen to the Anaheim announcers under a very annoying high-pitched squeal.
Back to work tomorrow. I suppose it will be okay. I'm just wondering how high the stacks of work are going to be. I hope I won't be too bogged down. If I ever reach a point again where there is nothing to do (and if it happens, it's usually sometime between December and February), I will be very surprised.
These commercials for the Blues make me sad. I know I mentioned that the announcers and pr guys need to stay positive about their team, but I just feel that these commercials are setting people up for a huge letdown or else making the announcers/pr team/administration/team itself lose credibility with anyone who knows better. Now, a Blackhawks fan should be the last person to throw stones, but the Blues are pretty bad. Does it say something when I glance at their schedule and think "yay, the Hawks are in town on Saturday." When I'm in St. Louis over Thanksgiving, I'm going to see the Blues play Phoenix. That's nice. I like going to the games.
I read way too much Oz fic today. But it was all good. I found another McManus/Murphy story, somewhere on LJ and I forgot to bookmark it. It was a link inside a link. And not from one of the usual suspects either (you know who you are). I'm going to have to let some time go by and some other stories go past before playing with that pairing again, because I'm beginning to fear losing the originality (maybe a series of some kind might work). Because it always seems to be Sean pining for McManus and then the lightbulb either goes off in McManus' head or it doesn't. It would be interesting if the situation was reversed. Hmm. Apparently inspiration cannot be timed. Because I really do want to be working on my Halloween story or tuning up the Schibetta thing or the advice HT100 challenge which I like and have to figure out who to approach the topic with. And now I'm thinking about reversing the traditional roles on the McManus/Murphy pairing so goodness only knows what's gonna hit the page first. Good thing I've got an Oz fic notebook. I know, I know. Shut up already and get writing.
