A reasonable day
Dec. 4th, 2006 11:28 pmSo today wound up being fairly productive work-wise. I was able to get a bit done - finally finished with October (yay!) so we're marching steadily along as far as that goes.
Feeling woefully unmotivated to write lately, although I have been dabbling at a few things - something for
hardtime100 which will probably be either McManus or Said or both when finished (is anyone remotely surprised?), the McManus/Beecher story for my co-worker (which will probably be given to him sometime between the end of this week and Christmas), and Oz Magi (which I have gotten started, but really need to push further ahead). I'm in sort of a weird mood lately and it's affecting the writing (everybody's all touchy-feely, which may or may not be true to the character). I have a feeling that if I was to write Burr Redding right now, he'd be like that as well. It's not good. I'll try to get it straightened out in the next week or so - I mean I know these characters are vulnerable at their core, but enough is enough.
Had a nice time dancing tonight. Our caller really put us through the paces, but I managed to hang in there and not look like I missed the last two weeks of class. Sometimes though, the whole thing gets too complex for its own good. At one point he says to us, "There's a reason you're thinking this is hard - because it is." And that's why they call it Challenge. What was really interesting about tonight is that the call that used to kick my ass eight years ago in Basic was added to another concept and was still kicking my ass tonight. But it was doing that with everyone, so I didn't feel too bad.
