Is that the time?
Dec. 19th, 2006 10:23 pmHoly cow. We're getting right on top of Christmas and I'm still exceedingly far behind at work. I have this quasi-Christmas party to plan for my Friday group at church and they're adding things to it that I have no idea about. And no one is helping me. Woo hoo! And all I really want to do on Friday is go home and curl up into bed and sleep. I don't know how this got to be my responsibility. I had a few hours off early (I think), so I was just hoping to do some decorating or something, and instead the whole friggin thing falls into my lap. I just have to keep telling myself - two more weeks, just two more weeks. Seems like that with a lot of things.
On a good note, I did finally find something for my niece for Christmas. I got her some outfits for her Barbies. No, I didn't get a pair of wedding dresses that I wanted - they had them, but they also had a bouquet of calla lilies as one of the accessories (I associate calla lilies with death and awful things - which may make them, in my mind, entirely appropriate for a wedding) so I passed and went instead for the slumber party collection. The last time I was in town everybody was telling her that she was going to have a slumber party with her aunt so that's where my thought process was. (And also, don't tell anybody this, but I love dressing the daggone dolls up as much as she does).
I mailed a couple of Christmas cards today. Finally getting into the season, although it seems late. I'm renting "Comfort & Joy" from Netflix - it's that sweet little time-travel Lifetime movie with Nancy McKeon. I watched it every time it was on cable, and now that I'm back to broadcast, I'm renting it. I didn't get around to seeing "Falling in Love" this year - that's another of my Christmas traditions - I'll just have to watch it later in the year. If you haven't seen it, rent it. It's highly romantic and the ending - (sigh). Beautiful.
