Title: The Dance
Pairing: Ryan O'Reily & Tobias Beecher/Chris Keller (yes, really)
Warnings: Wee bit of language, sexual situations, (fairly mild by my incredibly relaxed standards, but still probably should be avoided by younguns)
Word Count:418

The Dance
Merchandise in his pocket, Ryan O’Reily headed down the stairs. In just a few minutes, he would meet his buyer. The space underneath the stairs seemed to be a blind spot for the hacks – numerous activities went on down there during the course of the day. Some business, some recreational, but never with any interference.
As Ryan stepped off the last stair and turned the corner, he spotted them. Beecher and Keller. Fuck. The two hadn’t come up for air since New Year’s. Well, at least Beecher hadn’t, judging by the way he was feasting hungrily on Keller’s-
Wait, why the hell was he still watching this?
Their movements flowed like a dance – something practiced, unhurried, and thoroughly enjoyed. Ryan could see that this wasn’t the usual prison sex. It was two bodies in synch with each other. No force, bribery, or coercion was needed.
He watched Keller run his fingers through Beecher’s hair. A light touch here, a shift in movement there, and Beecher followed it easily. Ryan was fascinated by the gentleness of it all. He’d never been this gentle with anyone during sex.
Ryan considered Beecher. This definitely wasn’t the same man who had walked into Oz afraid of his own shadow. There was power there, and Ryan could sense that Beecher had as much control in this interaction as Keller did. This was something Beecher did willingly, as much for his pleasure as it was for Keller’s.
Ryan was so fixated on Beecher that it took him a moment to realize that he, too, was being watched. He looked up, caught instantly in Keller’s gaze. And then Keller’s slow smile began to spread wide on his face. That was the moment Ryan knew he was fucked.
Keller’s eyes, shining with mischief, let Ryan know that he was getting off as much by Ryan watching him as he was by Beecher sucking his cock. His eyes drew Ryan in, held him there.
But for now, the lord of the dance was merely an observer. Part of him wanted to move, to touch, to feel the weight of another body pressing into him, to be connected in such a way as to be an extension of another person. Just for a moment, he wanted to experience what Beecher and Keller had.
Keller turned his gaze back to Beecher and the spell was broken. Ryan slowly moved away. This dance was meant for two, and Ryan still wasn’t sure if he wanted to learn all the steps.

Date: 2006-11-16 03:07 am (UTC)Don't you ever try to tell me again that your Keller isn't sexual. You lie, woman!
So, ready to move to Canada and marry me? Cuz really, I could support you in a style you'd like to become accustomed to as long as you keep writing me stuff like this. *bg*
Just for a moment, he wanted to experience what Beecher and Keller had.
Oddly enough, that's part of the reason I became hooked on Oz. Their relationship was so compelling, and twisted, and I wanted to know how I'd deal with something like that. And that's enough from my twisted pysche for today.

Date: 2006-11-16 06:54 am (UTC)Actually, I was using a tried and true strategy perfected by the writers of "The L Word" - because the only way to avoid the really icky dialogue is to have the characters have sex. Sexed-up Keller=Silent Keller=No Clunky Dialogue
I'm on the next plane. Of course in another few months it would be "McManus again? We've had him three days in a row already. Couldn't you give me a little Torquemada? No, not with McManus (followed by an overly dramatic sigh, of course). (and) What do I have to do to get you to write a little B/K?" The tendency to move through a relationship in just a few sentences. That's me.
Seriously though, I love doing this, and I'm pretty open to writing requests - you probably know my style and quirks better than anybody, so send away.
You don't have to support me (unless you really want to - LOL), but could you just maybe finish one teeny tiny crackfic (pleeeeeeeze)?
An interesting note - Torquemada does not set off the spell-check. McManus, O'Reily, Adebisi - flagged every time, but Torquemada just sails through. Wild. Maybe I should start writing for him.

Date: 2006-11-17 04:22 am (UTC)As for our short, ill-fated marriage, I'm crushed. Truly. I don't know how I'll mend my poor broken heart now. You've ruined me for other women. And for other McManus writers. Whatever shall I do?
And I'd be happy to support you. I'm gonna be an employer soon. (See my exhaustion addled post to my journal, as if this reply isn't exhaustion addled enough.)
And Torquemada clearly doesn't ding the spell check since the words were chosen by history freaks with a thing for torture and the Spanish Inquisition. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Date: 2006-11-17 05:21 am (UTC)It really says something about my priorities that I'm reacting more strongly to the phrase "other McManus writers".
I've got to tell you though. It's nice to be able to self-identify as a writer again without feeling like a fraud.

Oh yeah, I feel that one. I didn't write for over ten years. Oddly enough, most of those years coincided with my marriage. Hmmm, I wonder if there's a connection?
