cmk418There's going to be a lot of posting in my LJ during the next 24 hours - I'm just warning you now.
So here's my list of predictions for categories that I have very limited knowledge of... (but it doesn't stop me)
Art Direction - Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Cinematography - The Diving Bell and the Butterfly - the whole movie is one big camera effect
Costume Design - Elizabeth: The Golden Age (although Atonement is quite possible)
Documentary Short Subject - Salim Baba (only chosen because I like the title)
Film Editing (the category that usually determines Best Pictue) - No Country for Old Men (I really wish Michael Clayton had been nominated here, because there were some moments of brilliance in it)
Makeup - Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Original Score - Michael Clayton (subtle, reminded me a lot of the scores from Soderbergh's films, so that's a definite plus)
Original Song - "Falling Slowly" from Once (if you want to hear it, check out this)
Animated Short - Moya Lyubov (I like this because I actually knew what the Russian meant before they translated it)
Live Action Short - Le Mozart de Pickpockets (best title of the bunch)
Sound Editing - No Country for Old Men (not really my first choice, but a safe bet if they run the table)
Sound Mixing - 3:10 to Yuma (because I can)
Visual Effects - Transformers (made way too much money to be completely ignored)
