Mixed reactions

cmk418I'm relatively happy that Obama was elected. It's weird though watching those people on tv talking about the advances we've made in civil rights and that how all Americans should realize that everybody is equal (or something to that effect).
And yet...
Arizona passed a ban on gay marriage.
Arkansas banned gay couples from adopting children
Florida passed a ban on gay marriage.
And so far, with 22% of the precincts reporting,
the amendment to ban gay marriage in California is currently at 54% for, 46% against. (I'm holding out a little hope that this will reverse itself)
My point - we've still got a long way to go, people.
ETA - 11:00 PST - 36% reporting - 53% for the ban; 47% against.
