Apparently not. I'm cultivating an obstacle course in my apartment, trying to get things reasonably organized so the next 10 days are not really crazy. I have to figure out how to dismantle my desk. It was a pain to put together - taking it apart may require a chainsaw. Yes, I fail the power tools stereotype, folks. I have none. I don't play softball either, for what it's worth.

Heard from my best ex today. First time in about two years. I sent out a generic "I'm moving" e-mail and she wrote me back right away wanting to know the gory details. I've run across a few things from her that I've kept - program from the concert we went to our first night out together (which she considers our first date, but I don't), card that came with the roses she sent me, first (and only) Valentine's card, pictures from our trip to St. Louis, so she's been on my mind.

Also talked to a longtime friend from Chicago, who said immediately, "So you're packing up your things and moving to Chicago" which have been how many of our conversations since I've left Chicago have begun. She and her partner may come down and visit and I'll be heading up to see them over Labor Day.

My beloved Blackhawks are having a difficult time in OT. They've only won once. I guess though tonight they should just be glad that they got a point out of it. It didn't sound like anybody else played beside the 3rd line and Nik, which was kinda sad. And to lose to St. Louis - I'm going to hear about that on Sunday for sure.

Read one of my scripts today. It's the great queer Casablanca one, which remains, by far, my favorite. It's honestly sick how much I love that thing. There are sequels and triologies on it. Or maybe I was writing fanfic for my own creation - is that possible? See I told you - sick.

Set everything up with the storage company today. I've got an appointment to go down there next Saturday, but nothing will officially get moved in until Sunday. Maybe I'll bring in a box of light kitchen stuff just to claim the space.

I made some damn good tomato sauce today. Very nice stuff. Tomorrow I have to do laundry. I feel much better today than I did yesterday - less tired. I went to sleep last night before 8:30 and got about 11 hours. I think I needed it.

Is it sad that I see the gas prices at $2.39 and think "oh, that's low"?

Am I the only one who thinks that Reese Witherspoon should not be playing opposite Vince Vaughn in "Four Christmases"? The height difference is pretty hard to ignore.

Apparently NBC did not love Raymond as much as I did. They cancelled "My Own Worst Enemy" to make way for another dance show. At least they ponyed up for the rest of the season of "Life".

And "Dollhouse" will now be on Friday. Probably a sad move for that series. I sense additional broadcasts of "Are You Smarter than a Fifth-Grader?" (or similar show) taking over that slot. But I will watch "Dollhouse" as long as it's on.

The good news is that it leaves my Monday nights free for the NHL on Versus.
