Had a great time on the road trip. I enjoyed the sights and some of the driving (Minneapolis was difficult - I think I'd have liked the city more if someone else had driven.) We played quite a bit of mini golf (although we could have played more), saw a bunch of stadiums and hockey arenas and sampled a lot of the local food - I made a point of not going to any chain restaurants that were found here in St. Louis. All in all, it was fun and it's nice to know that picking up and going someplace is something that I can do more often (so long as I have money for gas).

Work is the same. We're starting a new program so that's a challenge all its own. I'm still playing catch-up from vacation week so hopefully after Labor Day things will start to settle in.

Writing-wise, I managed to whip together a response to the

offseasonmatch challenge right before my birthday (did it in three days between work and choir practice and trip preparations). Also, after my whining about not being able to find a decent hockey blog for the Blues or Blackhawks, my brother convinced me that I should start one. I decided "what the hell" and so The Barret-love Section (in honor of the Blues' Barret Jackman, who is underappreciated IMO) was born on Facebook.
