Murphy should never have opened the door. He’d just been following Ryan O’Reily at a discreet enough distance to see him enter the men’s room. The sound of a soft thump against the wall followed by a low moan arrested his attention. He pushed open the door just far enough to look inside.
He saw his fellow C.O., Claire Howell, on her knees in front of O’Reily, her hands on his ass as her mouth engulfed Ryan’s cock. She caught Murphy’s eye and winked, but didn’t cease her movements. Sean watched O’Reily’s fingers tighten in her hair as he thrust his hips forward.
Part of his mind said that he should stop this, but Murphy couldn’t look away. Ryan had his eyes closed. Whether he was thinking of Howell, Gloria Nathan, his ex-wife, or someone else entirely, Murphy couldn’t say. The only thing that he was certain of was that O’Reily hadn’t been coerced into this.
He stepped back into the hall, the image replaying itself in his mind.
“Sean, there you are. Can I talk to you for a minute?” Tim McManus’ voice sounded far too close and Murphy nearly jumped out of his skin.
“Yeah, sure.” Sean tried to think of the most benign thing imaginable- how to make a peanut butter sandwich- as he walked with McManus to the Unit Manager’s office. Tim prattled on about his newest idea for EmCity and Sean nodded at what he hoped were appropriate places. The warden would shoot the idea down anyway regardless if Sean thought it was a good idea or not.
After Tim had finished his one-way brainstorming session, Sean went back to the C.O. station in the center of the quad. Claire was waiting for him. “Enjoy the show?” she asked.
“What show was that?” he replied.
She laughed. “Play it your way. And if you decide you want to do more than watch, you know where to find me.”
Who said I was focusing on you? he thought as she walked away.
