Double whammy
Jun. 2nd, 2022 06:43 pmSo in addition to watching my beloved hockey team get eliminated last Friday, the game also seemed to have gifted me with a bout of Covid.
(Not really sure if it happened at the game or at the family reunion on Sunday, but the latter was outside and didn't have 18,000 other people there)
My sister sent me a text this morning that she was down with it and I wasn't feeling bad so I went to work (minimal contact with folks there, so I'm not really worried about that) but I decided that I should be responsible and take a test before choir this evening.
They say it could take 15 minutes for that second line to come up on the test, but BOOM it was there pretty much before the third drop settled.
My parents are in denial and not taking the test until tomorrow.
The funny thing is that I feel better now than I have the past three weeks.
Such is life.
And how are you all doing?

Date: 2022-06-03 04:14 pm (UTC)I've been on so many drugs between my seasonal allergies & some kind of sinus thing that it's ridiculous. I finally felt like I was at the end of that and then- bam- Covid.
Hope you're able to get through what ails you pretty soon.

Date: 2022-06-09 05:58 pm (UTC)I don't know how I've managed to avoid it. I'm taking my first trip in a couple of years at the end of the month. May mask a fair amount - hoping not to join the club.

Date: 2022-06-17 11:30 am (UTC)I'm doing fine. I tested negative a week ago Tuesday and was back to work that day. I was vaxxed and double boosted and I think that helped keep the effects to a minimum even if it didn't stop the virus.
Masking may help, especially among crowds (learn from my mistake) and especially if you're traveling on a plane/train/bus/hotel elevator with folks you don't know. If you're going out of the country, check the regulations because you wouldn't want to get stuck somewhere and have no way back home. If you're doing a lot outdoors, particularly in the heat, you may want to limit the mask wearing just for comfort especially if you've been vaxxed. Maybe just practice good social distancing in that case.
