It's been one of those days. I broke one of my fillings. Not bad enough to feel it, but enough to wig me out a little bit (because I'm going to have to go to the dentist, and I hate going there). I got almost to the end of my subway ride to the Staples Center before realizing that I left my hockey ticket for tonight at my apartment and then ran like a madwoman trying to get back here and there before opening faceoff (I did make it). Chicago lost to St. Louis and Detroit, Nashville, and Columbus all won. My beloved Blackhawks are back in third place and don't have a chance to redeem themselves until Wednesday. And for all my running, the Kings lost (5-2) and the Colorado fans behind me made me nostalgic for the Detroit fans.
Going to try to get out to the movies tomorrow, possibly to see "I'm Not There". We're heading deep into awards season so there's quite a few things out there that I want to take a look at.
Amazingly enough, I just turned the heat on for the first time this year and there's actual heat coming out of the vent. Excitement abounds.
I may have mentioned the improvements that maintenance was doing in my apartment. It's been fun discovering what they were working on. They retiled my kitchen floor which I didn't notice right away because I was sucking in paint fumes from where they did the cabinet doors. They replaced the faucets in the vanity sink (I don't think they're the bold look of Kohler, but they're not the rusty pieces of metal that were previously there), and they fixed the garbage disposal (which hasn't worked since the week after I moved in). There are a couple of things that they have to finish up on, but I am quite pleased with what's been happening.
